Jordi Veciana
"Elegance is a concept that can be misinterpreted."
Spanish designer Jordi Veciana studied industrial design at ELISAVA in Barcelona and the Parsons School of Design in New York. He remained in New York after graduation, working first at Vignelli Associates and later at Polo Ralph Lauren, designing products, furniture, and store interiors.
Jordi returned to Spain in 1988 to collaborate with Grupo Inditex as a creative director, conceiving of new concepts for the Zara Group’s innovative retail spaces.
In 2003, Jordi joined forces with architect Jordi Castel to create Castel Veciana Arquitectura, a multi-disciplinary architecture and design firm. Situated in a 600 m². industrial warehouse in the area @22 of Barcelona, the firm has developed a diverse portfolio and works principally within in the areas of hospitality, retail, furniture, and lighting design.

Castel Veciana is known for its collaborations with lighting companies such as Carpyen, Parachilna, Cronek, and Lledó Iluminación. The firm has also collaborated with Gianni Versace, Desigual, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, Casa Decor, and Bata.
A notable product by the acclaimed designer is the Lewit lamp, by Metalarte:
